I wish we had never heard of NACA. We sold our home to a NACA participant working with the Lawrence, MA office. We regretted accepting their offer immediately, as every step of the process was a nightmare. Everything from the inspection to the appraisal turned into a huge ordeal due to the ineptitude of this office. They blamed everyone they could think of (bank, home inspectors, realtors, buyers, even us), and NEVER ONCE took any responsibility.

To make a very long and frustrating story short, we finally closed 49 DAYS AFTER our agreed upon closing date. Add that to the 60 day closing that was requested by NACA, and that's 109 DAYS to close a loan. It was NEVER communicated to us that the closing was not going to happen on the agreed upon date, so we moved out of our home and put all of our belongings in a truck (we were scheduled to close on the new home we were buying on the same day). The closing date came and went and all we were told is that they are waiting on the clear to close and their "emergency team" is working on it. That turned out to be a complete lie, one of many they proceeded to tell us over the next month and a half. When I say "they", I am specifically referring to Neil Mulligan, Operations Manager. I honestly still don't know if Mr. Mulligan is completely incompetent or a complete liar, but I suspect both.

Over the next several weeks (during which time we were forced to move BACK INTO our house), we were pretty much left in the dark as to what the status of the closing was. Almost all of our inquiries were literally ignored (phone calls, emails, attempts to speak with someone in person at their office). When there was communication, it was vague and for the most part, lies. This was done by design to keep us on the hook. We were told multiple times that the clear to close was coming "by the end of the day", then it would be radio silence for a full week. If the home we were buying did not stick it out with us, we would have walked away A LONG TIME AGO.

To this day, we have still not been offered an apology or any sort of explanation for the delay, not to mention the money and mental stress the whole situation caused us. I truly cannot comprehend what took a straightforward sale 109 days to close. Everyone involved in the transaction (realtors on all sides, attorneys, banks, insurance companies, even Senators and Congressman that I reached out to for help) cannot fathom how inept and unprofessional this company was and they have and will continue to warn all of their colleagues. My only hope is that NACA's reputation precedes them and that sellers will simply refuse to work with them.

Sellers, unless time is of ABSOLUTELY no concern to you, please RUN from any NACA offers.

Tim Trumble-please don't waste your time replying to this review. Your attempts to discredit anyone who has a complaint about NACA is unprofessional and pathetic, just like the company you represent.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Location: Lawrence, Massachusetts

I was very interested in working with Naca, but after reading the review, I feel that I should look at another home buyer program.

You are absolutely correct. That Tim person is a loud joke that isn't funny. Naca is a scam for sure.
