I agree. They need to be held accountable for their awful business practices.

I'm currently looking into legal ways to accomplish this, but I recommend everyone who has had a similar experience let the IRS know.

It takes 5 minutes to fill out and submit Form 13909 and it's one of the most direct ways to let the government know that this taxpayer-funded nonprofit is failing in it's supposed mission. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f13909.pdf

Frustrated Member

I started the NACA program in December 2019 and since then I have had 2 mortgage counselors. The last counselor left NACA in July 2020 which I was never notified. I reached out to the Philadelphia office in August when my e-mails to him came back as undeliverable. That's when I was told of his departure. I was advised that I was now assigned to the Office Manager Debra White. I have been trying to get in contact with her since then and have not received any type of response. So I call Member Services who tells me I had to sign up for the ATD Event which I did. I needed to write a letter of explanation which I did and was told to follow up with my mortgage counselor. Now I am back to square one with no response from Debra White. Tonya S.

I missed a 5:00 pm appt. I checked at 5:30 there was no invite to GoToMeeting Ive left several emails she has not responded. I dont understand what the problem is. I left Numbers. I asked to be rescheduled Angelic Vargas is counselor, she wont call me back, and this is the 3rd counselor Ive had, Your program sucks. Kafi Cayce 219****

This is unbelievable.

After 2 missed appointments with naca due to them not having enough staff.

I finally get my turn and wouldn't you know it I had covid along with several members of my family including my mom and missed the appointment. I have trying to get in contact with them to no avail.

March 2020 have been patient with these people and it's now November and still no progress after months of uploading requested documents there always an excuse. We don't have this we don't have that. I made copies and put them in her hand came back the next day to upload documents get an email stating we don't have the documents. I don't know about MACAU in other states but this one in Memphis, Tennessee is terrible and a waste of time and should be reported to the Senator in Nashville if their funding comes from government or private sector.

Was told I was approved an no response

Spoke to my counselor on 8/11/20 and was told that everything looks great and that week on Friday I should be approved. He stated that I would get some paperwork through my email and I should look out for it and nothing.

I joined the purchase workshop bc I thought my letters would be in my email and NOPE!! I'm confused on what to do next because I've sent my counselor emails and also who the heck is going to stay on that long phone line being the 100th person in line. I still don't know what I should be doing right now, what maybe stare at the walls every day not knowing what the next move is. I'm confused.

If u know that you're not able to keep your appointments with your clients, then you have to be professional and contact them and let them know, don't keep them feeling abandoned. Like c'mon, Naca can't be like this.

I have been trying to get approved by Naca since 2018 got approved on April 2020, but not for the desired amount. To this day, I have emailed Nonstop, called, left voicemail to my MC, every other day they respond that they have too many cases, that they are having to work on my case between cases. Just giving me the run around. NACA seems to be an amazing program but I feel like they have failed me. I have submitted everything they ask from me and more. I want to hold on to it, but it's exhausting. This is my Dream and my MC is standing in between me and completing it. NACA SHOULD have some compensation for their MC, for every successful approval and you will see how their employees become better and start processing cases effectively.

Current appt

Dear Sir/Madam, my husband and I (165****) have a virtual appt tomorrow @ 5:30 with Rekiyatou Jones in the Jacksonville office but we have not received email instructions on how to log into the appt yet. I have been calling almost everyday since last week and left messages with her letting know that we emailed our documents to email165****@***.com but have not heard or received any response from her.

We called members services twice to verify the appt and have an email sent to her. I want to verify that our documents have been received, that our memberships dues have been received and we were told that she would email us instructions on how to log into the virtual appt.

Can we please receive some type of response from someone about this matter. Thank you.

This is a very hostile unpleasant and unprofessional group of workers that they have hired to work on behalf of Naca. To say the least I see why they get the reviews that they have. No interest in doing any type of business with them after my appointment today. What a joke!!

I think NACA should have a class action lawsuit filed against them. They sue people sue for this type of treatment themselves.

I think it is time is consumers sue them! They are just lining their pockets with money yet not really helping.

Very rude Loan counselor

My loan counselor, Brenda Eggleston was so rude. She was not helpful. I would rather go through another loan program than have to deal with her. Come to find out, 2 other home buyers dropped out of the NACA program due to not wanting to deal with her. I was very excited to use the program. It is a great program, but people like her can give the NACA program a bad name.
