I had a foreclosure, bankruptcy, and a job making about $25,000 a year. I had a list of things I wanted in a house and things I didn't want. It took a while because my credit score was so low. Eight and a half years ago I lived an apartment paying $960 a month with no utilities included. Now I live in a (5 bedroom/3 bath, 1/2 acre, HUGE two-level flat backyard) home with a 2.5% mortgage payment of $556 per month. Even with taxes and homeowner's insurance, I'm paying over $200 less than what the apartment rented for.

If you do your part, NACA will do the rest. We only had to pay $15 at our workshop but would have paid more they had asked. The money was for the credit check. Stop whining and start doing what you need to do to get yourself/your family into that home that you will love and be proud of.
