My husband and I attended a NACA meeting in Oct 2016, at the church on San Pedro in Los Angeles. We did not get an appointment to see a counselor until Jan 2017.

We walked into our first counseling session with every document that was requested. The bank statements, the 2 years of tax transcripts, the rental information, pay stubs, everything!!!!! We came to every appointment. We submitted every document every month.

At every appointment we were told nothing, just keep submitting. In May 2017 our counselor was terminated. We met with our new counselor for 2 months with the same ***, no progress at all, still not knowing anything. All the while we were volunteering and giving supplies to the Hawthorne office.

By May 2017 we had 47 hours of volunteering. After 2 months with the new counselor he quit and we were given a 3rd counselor in July and was given a phone appointment date of August 28th which was a month and a half after our last appointment of July 3rd. Well August 28th came and went. The new counselor never called, of course I called to find out what happened and the Hawthorne office said, I would receive a call within 2 days, but today is Sept 5th and still no call from NACA Hawthorne.

But NACA is still holding the monthly meetings at the church to bring in new prospects and promising people that if they have all there paper work in order they can get a house. NOT TRUE! I am upset I feel that NACA is a scam!!!!!

I am done with them I want my supplies back and my $25.00 membership fee. Corlis Huley

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $564.

Update: After I contacted the counselor on Ms. Huley's behalf, the counselor contacted her on September 20, at which time all documents that had been submitted were processed and a face to face appointment was set for the following week so the file could finally be submitted to underwriting for qualification.

Ms. Huley called back later in the day and indicated that she wished to withdraw from the NACA program.
